Valley Behavioral Health has an opening for a Janitor/Maintenance Assistant. The ideal candidate for this position will be flexible and willing to learn.

JANITOR/MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT FUNCTIONS:
+ Clean assigned areas within patient units (dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
+ Fill out checklist and document cleaning on a daily basis.
+ Notify management of occurring deficiencies, contraband, or needs for repairs
+ Assist Maintenance Technicians in performing general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment which may involve plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical equipment repair or similar.
+ May act as back-up for maintenance on call person in case of emergency, respond timely and appropriately.
+ Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
+ Follow all health and safety regulations.
+ Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
+ Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets
+ Integrity and ability to work independently with little supervision
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Working experience as a janitor/custodian experience preferred
+ Previous maintenance experience preferred.

+ High School/GED or better
+ 1 year: Previous experience in housekeeping or maintenance
