Works with: The Director of Countermeasures Business Development is a peer with Director of Ordnance Business Development and the Senior Manager of Contracts & Compliance. The Director of Countermeasures Business Development Works cross-functionally with mid-level managers and supervisors, and engineering staff, plus collaborates extensively with senior Department of Defense civilian and military staff.

Job Summary
This person is responsible for the development of new business and profitable growth for Armtec’s Aircraft Expendable Countermeasures programs. He/she maintains and extends customer relationships, identifies new product initiatives, obtains and analyzes competitive intelligence, and develops strategic business plans to grow the business. He/she will also coordinate strategic customer and technology roadmaps, prepare 8-figure multi-year, multi-volume proposals, interface with Government working groups, and prioritize internal research and development (IRAD) investment. Key metrics are Countermeasures annual Bookings; Countermeasures annual Sales, Booking margins, win ratio and customer contact count.
Primary Responsibilities
•Maintain direct customer relationships with government and military customers
•Collaborate with the Engineering team to identify potential new product initiatives
•Obtain and analyze competitive and industry intelligence to create situational awareness for business strategy development
•Analyze USG budget documents to develop and validate multi-year sales forecast and annual operating plan
•Develop and execute annual bookings plan to support sales plan
•Develop strategic business and capture plans to grow the business with focus in both domestic and international arenas
•Direct our network of consultants and business development resources
•Lead or support proposal activities for selected programs
•Maintain appropriate security clearance (DOD Secret or higher) to conduct the required tasks
•Maintain the highest ethical standards and business ethics standards
•Understand and live by Armtec’s business code of conduct, operating policies, and safety procedures
Qualifications
•Extensive experience in business development and marketing experience including: Maintaining direct customer relationships; Capturing new business; obtaining and analyzing competitive intelligence; developing strategic business plans to grow the business
•Experience in both domestic and international marketing initiatives
•Experience with USG contracting and acquisition in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000 and other specified requirements
•Experience negotiating and winning major defense program awards
•Technical skills required to understand and propose solutions focused on military requirements
•Communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner
•Travel frequently to customer sites and industry events (25-50% travel)
•Familiar with international export requirements including the ITAR and EAR
•Must be approachable, credible, dependable, responsible, and accurate; with the ability to deal with people effectively.

Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements
•Must be a U.S. Person
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Science or Engineering, or other relevant field is required. An alternative degree with military or other industry experience may also be suitable.
•MBA or other relevant graduate degree is preferred
•8 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing and/or engineering is required. U.S. Government prime contracting, sub-contracting and business development is strongly preferred.
•U.S. Government classified security clearance is not mandatory but is preferred
Work Hours
•4/10 workweek with additional exempt work time as necessary
•25-50% travel; normally a few trips per month
