Job Description

Providing leadership, and assuming management responsibility for the integration, implementation, and support of technology for NYITCOM at Arkansas State University; Seeking and being responsible in creating new and innovative medical education technology while overseeing, maintaining, and enabling information technology in support of the academic, clinical and research mission of the college; Providing counselling to the Site Dean and leadership on annual budgets related to technology and working to facilitate external partnerships, platforms, technology pilots, and leading edge infrastructures that deliver a unique and sustained competitive advantage in support of the faculty, students, and staff; Building services and capabilities that can be leveraged for research and academic purposes, and ensuring the availability of established and innovative technologies; Having an academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine to facilitate scholarly collaboration and activities related to technology, and funding opportunities for projects in academic technologies, clinical information systems, networking, high performance computing and video-conferencing technology, including but not limited to telemedicine opportunities; Support for the development of health information technology (HIT), telemedicine, and advanced medical informatics from theory into practice in a full range of health environments including medical education, research and clinical sites; Working closely with the college leadership and the IT Department in OW in moving the college forward as a leader in innovative academic technology; Serving in a mentoring role to students and staff and providing technology content expertise in faculty development, curriculum design and teaching specifically in the areas of patient outcomes and populations health assessment; Providing oversight in implementation & integration of all hardware and software technology on the campus to allow seamless delivery of the curriculum required to support the academic and research platforms of the NYIT-COM at Arkansas State University, including: The development and operation of all hardware and software IT services; all IT operations within the confines of the medical college building and as needed at off-site hosted programs and conferences to support the academic activities of the college; ensure uninterrupted delivery of technology between the two campuses (New York and Arkansas), including collaboration and integration where appropriate with the Arkansas State University technology department; Supporting grants, reports, and proposals that depend on advanced networks and innovative technology for reporting and data gathering purposes; and Work in collaboration with established systems at NYITCOM, Old Westbury IT Department.
