Job Title: Assistant Superintendent

The Job Details: The Assistant Superintendent assists the Superintendent in the planning, development and implementation of all warehouse procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements, working within this team to continually exceed USCS’s facility and Company goals. The Assistant Superintendent work closely with the Superintendent, Operations Manager and General Manager. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting in all warehouse operations. The Assistant Superintendent in conjunction with the Superintendent serves as an interface and coordinator for all warehouse activities. This position is responsible for assisting the Superintendent in any/all warehouse activities. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

+ Assist the Superintendent in the efficient coordination and execution of workflow throughout the warehouse: ensuring continuing safety, sanitation, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction in line with facility goals.

+ Assist in overseeing inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation and recall, training, customer claims and requests, and record keeping.

+ Participate in the hiring process of new warehouse employees.

+ Provide hands-on leadership to the ongoing development of the assigned personnel and teams.

+ Maximize the utilization of all USCS warehouse support computer system applications and tools, including RF equipment, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

+ Ensure that all warehouse sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA and other government compliance, and industry standards.

+ Assist in ensuring Regulatory and Quality Assurance compliance within the facility.

+ Work with Superintendent and Customer Service personnel to ensure that all requirements and requests are responded to in the highest professional manner.

+ Help maximize all warehouse activities as they relate to meeting established financial goals, making recommendations to the Superintendent and/or Operations Manager for operational and capital improvements.

+ Develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels within the USCS team environment.

+ Provide leadership and communication as needed to maximize individual and team performance.

+ Act on the Superintendent’s behalf when necessary.

+ Assist in processing payroll as necessary.

+ Provide assistance, where needed, in processing invoices, claims and freight charges.

+ Complete any additional tasks delegated by the Superintendent, Operations Manager and/or General Manager

+ Responsible for Product Safety, Quality and Legality

+ The Assistant Superintendent will complete the responsibilities for the Superintendent in his/her absence

+ Maximize the utilization of all USCS warehouse support computer system applications and tools, including RF equipment, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

+ Ensure that all warehouse sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA and other government compliance, and industry standards.

+ Oversee and supervise Regulatory and Quality Assurance issues within the facility.

+ Maximize all warehouse activities as they relate to meeting established financial goals, making recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or General Manager for operational and capital improvements.

What We Are Looking For:

Education

+ 2-year College Degree or 3+ years’ experience in similar industry/business preferred.

Experience

+ Warehouse Supervision, preferably in a food or temperature-controlled environment.

+ Radio frequency and other warehouse computer applications such as MS Office and Lotus Notes.

+ Detail and customer service oriented.

+ Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem solving, decision making, excellent mathematical skills.

+ Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action.

+ Handle multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced team environment, and requires the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
