The ASU System Programmer/Analyst supports our system locations for a wide variety of critical software applications. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. The ASU System Programmer/Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise systems in coordination with appropriate departments on campus and communicate with the vendor when appropriate
+ Perform as technical lead on software projects, working as the liaison between department staff, vendor, and executive team
+ Work independently, on a team, as a team lead, or in collaboration with others on Software projects in a relational database environment
+ Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
+ Ability to organize and manage various tasks/projects under changing deadlines, including ability to reorganize priorities on a regular basis
+ Overnight travel may occasionally be required
+ Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Prior programming experience required
Ability to relate well with staff, faculty, students, administrators and other IT staff
Ability to work quickly and accurately, manage a diverse work-load, and complete tasks in a timely manner
Ability to successfully apply problem solving strategies to produce desired results for issues as they arise
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
General Days/Hours:Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
Four (4) years of experience in computer programming or related area, including one year in systems analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more (3+) years’ application development experience
Excellent critical thinking aptitude
Proven problem solving and analytic abilities
Bachelor’s Degree is strongly desired, preferable in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field
Ellucian Banner programming experience
Programming environments/languages such as Oracle, SQL, Java, C ++, C Sharp and similar
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
