Job Description
Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor and taking direction from the Lead Hand/Supervisor, the Framer is responsible for the installation and assembly of the major structural elements of hardware and steel required for building construction according to pre-determined quality standards.

- Creates and promotes a safe environment for the production and erection of structurally sound wood buildings by promoting a Culture to Care where health and safety come first

Accountabilities: Operational
- Ensures all work is performed in a safe manner and have a complete understanding of safety protocols including emergency stop buttons, power switches and proper lockout procedure
- Knows the OSHA requirements that apply to tasks in the designated work area and ensures requirements are met
- Ensures awareness of all known hazards
- Ensures appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used properly, is regularly inspected and maintained
- Operates equipment by demonstrating One Right Way of performing tasks
- Able to calibrate and set up machine properly (according to defined schedule and as defined by SOP)
- Organizes workspace to maximize production throughout & meet production schedules
- Provides recommendations to improve product throughput
- Learns and operates the software program and has a basic knowledge in part programming
- Checks blueprints for installation standards
- Works with the Shift Lead Hand/ Supervisor to maximize production flow
- Completes effective handoffs at shift change

Education, Experience and Physical Requirements
- Experience in timber framing, SIP experience preferred
- Written and verbal skills sufficient to keep records and communicate with other operators
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills (preferred)
- Safety Sensative position requiring ability to lift up to 50lbs, walking, stairs, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, kneeling, squatting and balancing, exposure to loud noises and dust
