Background & Purpose of the Job

The Category Analyst – Sam’s Club helps deliver thought leadership and insights to drive solutions that accelerate growth for the category at Sam’s Club. You will partner with multiple levels within Sam’s Club and Unilever to influence, plan, and execute best-in-class category strategies.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

+ You’re a story teller: You will have access to multiple robust data sources to turn insights into action by providing differentiated thought leadership delivered through simplified stories, to influence category strategies.

+ You’re a strategist / visionary: Figuring out problems with limited direction doesn’t faze you. You have the intuition to anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting to develop and translate insight into retail action.

+ You’re a dot connector: You will penetrate multiple cross-functional teams and the customer to successfully influence action plans, specific to Sam’s Club, based on industry research and Unilever knowledge.

+ You’re an innovator: You have a healthy dissatisfaction for the status quo and through access to tools, you will set a constant eye on the future to garner insights and develop solutions that drive incremental growth for Sam’s Club, while influencing internally to Design for Channel.

+ You’re agile & versatile: You can manage multiple categories at the same time, while delivering recommendations for growth within a limited SKU environment to our retailer partners.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ Experience or ability to quickly learn MADRiD 2.0, IRI, and panel data platforms

+ Capacity to quickly learn club model and business drivers

+ Desire to build and leverage an internal and external network to provide insights and drive long-term strategy across multiple categories

+ Ability to link data analytics with retailer and syndicated data sources to provide insights and influence strategy

+ Experience or ability to quickly analyze and interpret data from syndicated sources such as IRI/Nielsen POS data, Panel Data, NPD, Spectra
