Employment Type: Full-time Position: Events Manager Department: Event Services FSLA Status Salary/Exempt Reports To: Director of Events Services Regular/Temporary: Regular The Event Manager provides professional client services support in the planning, organization, and management of events at the Brookshires Grocery Arena in Bossier City, La. The Event Manager also monitors the logistics of events, and all event coordination tasks after events are booked through the conclusion of the event. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments. Attends appropriate planning, organization and other event and facility meetings. * Determine the event criteria and compose a detailed event document with individual instructions to each department * Serve as the lead Event Manager for clients in handling any unexpected changes, requests, and unusual circumstances as they arise * Coordinate with Operations: equipment distribution/inventory, room set requirements, and special staffing requirements * Plan and coordinate activities with the various service contractors for assigned events * Inspect leased event space during move in, move out, and show hours to oversee enforcement of Fire Safety Regulations and proper set up. Monitor’s facility set up * Guide clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures * Keeps the client informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set ups, and other relevant event details * Prepares cost estimates and assists the accounting department with the final billing * Conduct prospective client tours and help the client visualize the variety of uses on how their event can take place within our venue * Maintain an overall philosophy of providing the highest level of customer service possible * Communicate in a courteous, cooperative, respectful, timely and professional manner with ASM Global Staff, clients, and subcontractors * Performs other tasks as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (BA) in hospitality, business, or related field from a four-year college, university, or equivalent experience on a year for year basis for the degree is preferred. * 1 to 2 years of event planning experience and/or training. * Working knowledge of the principles of event facility management, services, and equipment. * 3 years previous communication / information services experience; and * Knowledge of the Bossier City/Shreveport area including hotels, restaurants, retail, and entertainment, preferred * Experience as a supervisor or manager is preferred. Skills and Abilities * Ability to work both in a team and independently. * Must be able to work flexible schedule to include holidays, weekends, and evening shifts. * Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written. * Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple projects. * Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills. * Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
