Job Details:

Tyson Transportation Analytics team is looking for a year-round part-time intern (about 20 hours/week with the option to work up to 40 hours/week in between semesters) to help us to “Create the future of Distribution, elevating the quality of life of our people & our business partners through innovative systems & processes”. In an average day: you’ll encounter a variety of project & customers. Everything from: · Running our regular operational reports (not everything can be fully automated), · Helping us break-ground on new projects (we’d like your help in the evaluation & improvement of our existing analytical offerings including dashboards & reports), and by · Coordinating a lot of our inter-department communication to keep all our stakeholders in the loop on our efforts Who you’ll work with: Us (the Analytics team), our extended team (Transportation Services also includes Systems, Processes & Claims), our department (Transportation includes: distribution planning, truck dispatch, load building, appointment setting, customer service, strategy, etc.), & our customers across Tyson (Sales, IT, Fresh Meats, Prepared Foods & Poultry). · You’re good at: o Communicating – emails, presentations, face-to-face, etc. o Solving Problems – no two days are the same, so be ready for anything from a quick fix to a multi-month investigation. o Helping People – it’s no accident that “Service” is in our groups name! o Digging into Data – hint: this one is important. · Bonus Points for: o Transportation or Supply Chain experience o A background in data analytics (regression analysis, correlation, forecasting, planning, and change, “getting to a reasonable degree of certainty” to confidence intervals. o Project work (Agile, Waterfall methodologies) o Process Mapping (Data Flow, Entity Relationship, &/or Context Diagrams) o Analytics/technical experience – coding (R, SQL, Python), database design (Oracle, Access), &/or visualization (Tableau, PowerBI) o Advanced computer skills with thorough practical experience using the Microsoft Suite software and other common business applications, ability to prepare standard spreadsheets and presentations. · REQUIREMENTS: o Education: Incoming junior, senior, or MBA at least one year of school remaining. Business or Supply Chain majors are preferred. o Experience: Previous work experience in any field. o Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel familiarity with Access Word and PowerPoint. o Supervisory: None o Special Skills: Ability to multitask; motivated self-starter.
