Background & Purpose of the Job:

Unilever is accelerating growth at Walmart through Retail and Walmart eCommerce/Omnichannel as channel diversity is becoming ever more critical to Unilever’s growth. The Associate Customer Business Manager (ACBM) will help manage the Walmart business, define assortment, and channel strategies, and analyze the business to drive growth. This associate will help drive profitable sales volume and develop sustained business relationships with Walmart. This role will be based in the Bentonville, Arkansas area (preferred).

Who You Are & What You will Do:

The ACBM will report to the Customer Business Manager. The ACBM is responsible for helping achieve volume goals while maintaining spending goals based on the joint business plan. An ACBM must be able to juggle multiple projects at once while maintaining a precise business acumen. They will drive profitable sales volume for Unilever and are responsible for analyzing POS & turnover, forecasting sales, growing category and brand share, and trade marketing spend management. The ACBM will leverage retail & eCommerce best practices and fundamentals and work closely with our internal Consumer & Market Insights Team, Shopper Marketing Team, Field Sales Team, Brand Teams, and Customer Development Team to identify top growth opportunities for Walmart. They will own relationships with Walmart buyers and Walmart cross-functional teams on joint business plans to commercialize and deliver on these opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

+ This position will require an intense understanding and use of Walmart’s Retail Link data; analyzing pricing, dollar and unit volume trends, promotions, shopper marketing activations, and new item performance in Walmart B&M and dotcom.

+ This position will own customer administration, which includes tasks like new item set-up, sales forecasting, portfolio management, in addition to, partnering with cross-functional teams to meet operational targets such as turnover, category growth, margin, and competitive share growth across Brick & Mortar,, and Online Grocery Pickup.

+ This position will require regular interaction with Walmart buyers and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of Walmart’s Go to Market strategy, strong communication, and a customer-focused mindset are critical to servicing the customer in this role.

+ Coordinate annual planning efforts and drive trade investment effectiveness and ROI

+ Lead shopper marketing and category strategic initiatives that support your business plan

+ Lead innovation strategy and execution along with managing the core of the core distribution

+ Coordinate annual Joint Business Plans at Walmart, spanning entire Omni-Channel

+ Partner internally to align and meet Customer & Unilever objectives with Customer Development, Brand, Shopper Marketing, Shopper Insights, eCommerce, and Supply Chain

+ Be strategic as well as manage the day-to-day details, requiring strong analytical skills and processing large amounts of data

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

+ Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

+ Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, IRI and/or Nielsen, Forecasting and Financial tools

+ 3+ years’ experience in CPG or Retail industry, including roles in sales, customer development, customer management or buying

+ Prior experience in eCommerce or Omni-channel management preferred

+ Strong negotiation skills and experience in owning/meeting commercial targets

+ Ability to forecast sales and manage trade investment and return on investment

+ Must have proven success building customer relationships and effectively communicating with a wide variety of leaders

+ Must be able to provide clear leadership to a broad cross-functional business team to execute against business strategies. Strong track record of collaborating and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders, internal and external.

+ Must be a strategic thinker that can balance data and insights with big picture thinking.

+ Must demonstrate ability to leverage future trends and market insights and think creatively when building business plans and influencing the customer.

+ Working knowledge of eCommerce retail basics, traffic & conversion drivers, Search, the consumer’s path to purchase journey, and pureplay retailer models.
