The Director of Employee Relations & Development provides employee relations services to foster employee engagement and an effective work environment. Design, plan, and implement programs and training in support of operations and strategic goals and objectives. Provides strategic direction and management in the development and implementation of systems, processes, programs, and tools that serve to build a competitive cooperative culture, improve leadership, and increase employee and team effectiveness. Works with business unit leaders, to ensure linkage and compatibility between Organizational Development (OD) and learning initiatives that support the strategic direction of the company.
Provides employee relations services to foster employee engagement and an effective work environment.
Provides guidance and counsel to employees/managers concerning performance improvement, policy violations, failed drug screens, disciplinary actions, and other work-related issues, to enhance employee productivity and minimize the Cooperatives' exposure to legal risk.
Responds promptly to employee/manager concerns to include formal and informal information gathering, internal investigations, comprehensive documentation of the issues and resolution actions taken.
Assists managers with disciplinary documentation and the employee termination process. Monitors the utilization and effectiveness of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) program and assists managers with mandatory referrals. Conducts exit interviews, compiles, and analyzes results and presents to Vice President.
Administers the annual performance appraisal process and recommends adjustments in the process and tools to optimize effectiveness.
Communicates performance management expectations and trains managers and employees on effective use of the performance management tools.
Advises and assists managers on performance documentation. Coordinates the timely completion of annual performance appraisals.
Administers employee engagement surveys, communicates results of the surveys to all levels of management, including the CEO, and develops action plans to address gaps in engagement.
Develops, manages, and supports implementation of OD and learning initiatives that support the company's business strategy. Participates in the development and implementation of overall Human Capital Management strategic initiatives as it relates to OD and Learning.
Oversees and/or participates in the implementation and improvement of OD functions such as employee development, executive development, succession planning, culture/change management, group/organizational performance assessments and analysis.
Training and Development
Conducts needs analysis of individual, team and leader development requests from division vice presidents and department managers; clarifies performance and development objectives and provides targeted learner centric solutions that are aligned to the cooperative's strategic priorities and organizational outcomes.
Designs and delivers customized, engaging, results-oriented interventions, workshops, e-learning, meetings, and other learning experiences to improve employee, leadership, and team performance.
Organizes on-going programs including new employee and new leader orientation, tuition reimbursement, culture assessments, leader business skills curriculum and management skills training.
Provides support for technical training needs to include technical training research, apprenticeship programs, certification and licensing, testing, assessments, and skills demonstration.
Ensures the delivery of an annual HR Statewide Conference.
Administers the annual performance management process.
