The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for administering physical therapy treatments as outlined by a Physical Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Physical Therapist following the physical therapy evaluation. Assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department and participates in quality improvement activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Completes other duties as assigned. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Education: Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Licensure: Licensed in state of Arkansas as a Physical Therapy Assistant
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy & physiology.
Preferred Experience: One or more years of previous experience in physical therapy preferred.
Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred.
