Distribution Modernization Project Manager

 

Perform strategic business research and analysis. Review, analyze and evaluate business processes, systems and users' needs in relation with the business requirements identified.

 

This role manages cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project scope, timelines, and with quality results. Project Managers plan, organize, monitor, and oversee multiple projects to meet defined requirements or business specifications. They work closely with the other McKesson employees to guide efforts toward achieving intended business results.

 

The Project Manager will be responsible for co-directing and co-managing the project with the McKesson Project Manager. The Project Manager will ensure that appropriate action plans are in place to resolve any issues or project health deficiencies and will provide clear and consistent communication across the project charter.

 

Developing work plans, set deadlines and coordinate activities

Defining deliverables and milestones

Setting and controlling scope

Risk Management

Scheduling and reporting

Change management

Project administration

Ability to work closely with Process Owners and other key stakeholders to communicate progress

Project Planning

Issue management

Provide strategic direction for all aspects of delivery of a process

Activity and task management, process monitoring, & business and technical issue resolution

Partner and manage strategic relationships with IT partners as a Product Owner in a SAFE Agile framework

Coordinates with the business partner community to devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems or improves existing processes

Provides partners with alternative solutions and recommendations for business case, leveraging existing technology where possible

 

To summarize the skills required to fulfill a Business Project Manager role:

Must be an experienced system user

Project Manager with strong business application knowledge or a business application analyst with strong operations proficiency

Understand aspects related to the business processes and supporting systems

Customize the respective business area and make sure the system reacts in the manner according to user requirements

Write detailed descriptions and analyze user needs

Propose creative solutions to user problems that may arise

Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Establish and communicate common goals and direction for project; coordinate cross-functional communication, problem solving and team initiatives

A self-starter that is driven to learn new business processes and applications

Share business, technical and application knowledge with other members of the team

Balanced mixture of skills: driver/facilitator, visionary and doer

Travel required up to 50%

 

Other highly desired skills for this role are:

Prior experience with McKesson Medical-Surgical systems

Prior experience conducting presentations and training

Advanced application software skills including but not limited to presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing applications
