Job duties include operating large farm equipment and machinery equipped with GPS for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, harvesting grain; transporting grain from field to storage and field to commercial facilities; and driving pickups to obtain parts and supplies. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors, combines, trackhoe, sprayer, backhoe, vacuum planter, trucks, augers, hopper bottom trucks, and grain carts. Work duties also include daily repairs and maintenance to equipment, machinery, and buildings; maintaining
the worksite and equipment; cleaning the shop location and equipment; grain cleanup in and around grain facilities; working with levee gates; light carpentry work improving and maintaining living quarters, mowing, trimming, and washing; and mechanic and maintenance work on all trucks, tractors, grainerys, and motors.
Irrigation work will be required which includes but is not limited to irrigation motor setup, pipe plumbing, rolling out irrigation pipe, punching water holes and vents plus minor shovel work. Employees may have to work nights and possibly weekends. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; have 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
