Duties: Leads the work of cross-functional groups of ten to twenty engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes. Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; directing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and reviewing and approving online documentation. Supports business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities and drive resolution; partnering with business to define priorities; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership. Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design by partnering with the Product Management, Web Operations, Project Management, Business and User Experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas. Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; directing and reviewing design artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes); writing and developing code; overseeing software design; reviewing unit test cases; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; directing project team and cross functional teams; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 6 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Ph.D. degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
Skills Required: Must have experience with: Large scale Product Delivery for International Countries handling time zones, cultures, and expectations to gather requirements, translate into technical specifications, design, architect and develop customizable international solutions, deploy solutions into local markets and support the production incidents; Working with offshore resources in multiple countries distributing work into US, Mexico, and Pakistan as a single delivery team to assign work, coach, supervise and secure the deliverables according to plans and quality; Enterprise and Solution architecture methodologies with in order to create architecture deliverables, and govern product architecture lifecycle, and define product transition architectures, product target architectures and product deployment architecture; Point of sale industry standards to implement POS Solutions; Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Poker Planning, Retrospectives) implemented using Jira Tool to lead a delivery scrum team located in different countries; Project & Portfolio Management methodologies (PMI Based) including Resource Management, Scope Management, time management, budget management, Communication Management, Stakeholder Management to manage large scale international projects; Implementation of Cloud patterns (Design, implementation, support) in Microsoft Azure to deliver large scale international solutions; Designing and implementing Microservices on rest and APIs to implement large scale cloud based projects; Operational Support methodologies with Itil framework, to properly prioritize, support and maintain the production SLAs for the product on each of the target markets; Working with Latin American clients in delivery markets as well as delivery teams in different countries; Product Design, Design Thinking, Product Road mapping, MVP Defining and Grow Strategies to handle the Product vision, prioritization, Road mapping and design of the assigned product including the technical roadmap; Object Oriented Design and Programming on Java development to create large scale, scalable fault tolerant high performance solutions that can be deployed in multiple cloud environments; Relational Databases like Oracle, Informix, DB2, MySQL in Cloud and on premise to support large scale projects including using complex queries, database normalization, and database optimization; and Linux systems to setup, tune and optimize java based solutions on large high availability environment.
