Job Description

Southern Bancorp is searching for an Instructional Designer to join our team in Little Rock, AR. The Instructional Designer works closely with leadership and subject matter experts (SME’s) to design, develop, implement, plan, and evaluate comprehensive training programs with evidence-based strategies from fields of instruction design, educational technology, human performance improvement, and cognitive science that lead to learner success. Tasks include the design and presentation of corporate training programs and staff courses that are responsive to the needs of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Plans and manages the design, develop and update of eLearning and instructor-led training programs based upon adult learning principles
  • Creates exercises, activities, and experiences that enhance the learning process
  • Produces dynamic multimedia content for eLearning utilizing authoring tools  
  • Works with management to identify knowledge and behavioral gaps
  • Conducts needs assessments to identify scope of training requests and develop appropriate training solutions. 
  • Analyzes instructional needs, defines course requirements, manages the project through the development process, and ensures instructional integrity.
  • Builds supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, games, etc.)
  •  Maintains familiarity with current training concepts, trends, and technology.
  • Uploads and tests all functionality of eLearning courses in LMS prior to launching
  • Tracks training records for the company

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in instructional software tools, preferably Articulate, Camtasia, or Adobe eLearning/creative cloud suite (Captivate)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with needs assessments
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Uses initiative and attention to detail
  • Highly organized and ability to track multiple tasks
