The Case Manager is responsible for concurrent Utilization and Case Management activities for designated hospitalized patient groups. This includes planning and coordination of care; determining the appropriateness of the level of care, medical necessity of services, admissions and continued stays. The Case Manager is responsible for assessing the patients' care needs, coordinating services and resource controls, facilitating effective use of resources, timely discharge planning, presenting alternative care options and assisting the multidisciplinary team in transitioning the patient through appropriate levels of care. The Case Manager is expected to be flexible and adaptive to the ever-changing health care arena.


Education: Registered Nurse or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5 years experience in a clinical setting.

Licensure: Licensure in Nursing (Active) by the State of Arkansas

Experience: Five years experience in a clinical setting


Other: Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to assess complex care needs with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Computer skills to include keyboarding, data entry, knowledge of Windows applications or willing to undergo training. Knowledge of health care delivery systems, Utilization Management principles, and principles of Continuous Quality Improvement. Ability to motivate others, functioning well in a team environment; motivated to seek continuing education, with certification in areas most applicable to area of practice Understands and practices the institutional Core Values of Dignity, Justice, Stewardship, Compassionate Service, and Excellence.
