Job Description

Bachoco OK Foods is seeking an Plant Manager for our Fort Smith, AR location.

Summary  Works hand in hand with upper management, supervisors, superintendents, vendors, and contractors to control the operation. Works on special projects and works with USDA on plant issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works well with people and treats everyone equally.

Understands how all departments in the plant have to work together to reach goals.

Must be able to work with all areas of the company (sales, accounting, quality control, etc.) to reach goals.

Understands the budget.

Must be able to control/meet yields, pplh, ppmh on the production lines.

Needs to work out of the box to bring new ideas to the table to improve the operation.

Must know product quality and how to run the products to a specification.

Must be able to adjust formulations and use up meat as necessary.

Understands inventory control.

Previous management experience in poultry production facility required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages subordinate superintendents, supervisors, and hourly employees at the production facility. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises two non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
