Department's Website:www.uamont.eduSummary of Job Duties:Primary duties consist of teaching 12 credit hours a semester at the undergraduate level, including Principles of Accounting and one or more of the following upper level courses: Cost Accounting, Auditing/Forensic Accounting, governmental/nonprofit accounting, and Accounting Information Systems. Principles courses are scheduled each semester. Upper-level courses are scheduled once a year or on a two-year cycle.

 

Other responsibilities include advising/mentoring students, serving on departmental and university committees, and participating in course and program assessment. Expectations for tenure and promotion include research/scholarly activities appropriate to a small teaching-centered School of Business and professional engagement with the business community. Collegiality, professionalism, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence are necessary. As a member of the business faculty the successful candidate will be an integral part of the School and have the opportunity to shape the accounting and business programs.Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or D.B.A. is strongly preferred.Applicants with a Master's degree in Accounting or relevant field will be considered.Experience teaching at the collegiate level and/or professional experience are preferred.CPA licensure or eligibility for licensure with an intent to complete the requirements is preferred for candidates with a Master's degree.
