In this position, you will contribute ideas for innovative technology developments and solutions, working to solve industrial problems.
Reporting to the Director of R&D - Electrical, you will be responsible for design and development of new products and product redesign with an emphasis on design development and optimization, electromagnetic analysis and design-to-cost. This position also includes support of current products and product standards.Your responsibilities
Technology and product development of new products and support of current products
Establish electrical design and perform detailed cost-benefit analysis for use as an input in design optimization
Create new electrical designs with special emphasis on induction motor modeling techniques and design methodology
Direct and interpret results of testing in order to verify motor performance
Ensure product designs are cost effective, meet the specifications and performance requirements through the practical application of engineering, design principles, and industry standards
Support of manufacturing processes as required
Interface with Product Management, Sales and Supply Chain for training, application assistance, and product specification discussionsYour background
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or Physics is required and minimum 2 years of experience in electric motor design is required
Experience in electromagnetic modeling methods (FEA) is a plus
Strong team skills and communication skills to work with Sales, Marketing and customers
Computer programming experience is a plus
Experience with SAP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks is a plus
