Department's Website:http://career.uark.edu/cdc/Summary of Job Duties:The Career Counselor for the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences (Bumpers) will provide career advising for undergraduate and graduate students. The Career Counselor will report to the Director of Employer Relations in Bumpers and to the Director of Career Education for the Career Development Center (CDC). The Career Counselor will assist students on the exploratory pathway plan with major and career exploration, planning for a job or graduate school, and/or providing resources for job search. The counselor also will provide resources for identifying experiential education opportunities (including Cooperative Education, internships, service-learning, job shadowing, etc.) and assistance with the application process for the opportunities as well as administer and provide feedback for career planning and strengths awareness assessments. This position is grant-funded, renewable annually based on continued availability of funding and satisfactory job performance.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience working in a career center or working in the area of career placement or counseling, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, higher education administration, business/corporate or employer relations, marketing/external relations, university advancement/development, academic advising, or a field that closely aligns with the objectives of the position
