The Research & Statistics Supervisor is responsible for directing the statistical and analytical research for agency programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Directs the statistical and analytical research of various agency programs by planning and developing operating procedures and review and quality control processes. Plans, organizes, and schedules project and program procedures and develops monitoring and reporting systems to measure project effectiveness. Develops or revises agency policies, procedures, and programs based on research findings. Writes various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports explaining findings of research for various assigned projects. Oversees a small administrative support staff by interviewing, recommending for hire, training and reviewing work. Conducts special studies by researching topic, collecting and compiling statistical data. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and practices of statistical research. Knowledge of compilation and analysis methods related to research and statistical data. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others. Ability to interpret and apply program objectives and translate research findings into comprehensive written and oral reports and proposals. Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops.
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or general business, or a related field; plus two years experience in research , statistics, planning, or a related field, including one year in a leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
