The Program Manager resides in the Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention (CCOP) which is located on the Arkansas Children's campus at the Arkansas Children's Research Institute (ACRI). The CCOP Program Manager will work to develop, implement, and coordinate activities within the CCOP Community Engagement (CE) Core. They will be responsible for utilizing resources efficiently and effectively to execute the directives and objectives of the Center. The Program Manager will facilitate lay, practice, and research partnerships and is the focal point for communications and dissemination of information to lay community members and others and therefore has broad knowledge of all aspects of the Center.

Participates in the development and implementation of community engagement activities designed to achieve CCOP component goals and objectives, by supporting policies, procedures and priorities, and developing strategies for achieving short, medium and long-term goals as established collaboratively for the CCOP.

Participates in planning, development, coordination, and implementation of systems that promote and enhance the mission, goals and objectives of the CCOP component.

Coordinates educational events and community workshops to address interests and priorities as identified by the CCOP CE Core and support implementation of CCOP research activities.

Helps advance a community-relevant research agenda that complements interests and expertise of potential partners in the health practice and academic communities.

Fosters long-term collaboration with partners.

Works with academic, practice and lay community partners to develop research partnerships and grant applications.

Facilitates networking between different community based organizations.

Attends community-based events and programs.

Serves as a "match-maker" or point person to link interested community groups with academic or provider groups for the purpose of research.

Provides outreach to and maintain knowledge about community groups across Arkansas as a foundation of building potential collaborations across community, academic and provider groups.

Facilitates networking between different community-based organizations and researchers associated with the CCOP.

Collaborates with CE Core of the UAMS Translational Research Institute (TRI) to create a child-health customized version of their Community Scientist Academy (CSA).

Assists researchers with developing and implementing study participant recruitment and retention strategies.

Works with CCOP leadership to align goals of the CE Core with those of the Center.

Assists researchers requiring the services of the CCOP CE Core to develop, implement, revise and disseminate research projects focused on improving the health of the children of Arkansas.

Assists researchers with developing and implementing research results dissemination plans. Work with the CCOP director, associate directors and community liaison to conduct consultations with researchers requesting the services of the community engagement core of the Center.

Coordinates community events for the purpose of disseminating research findings and information of the CCOP to lay and stakeholder communities.

Provides guidance and consultation to investigators regarding the component's resources available.
