The Structural and Computational Biology Lab at Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center (https://acnc.uams.edu/home/faculty-listing/faculty-listing-2/sree-v-chintapalli/), directed by Dr. Sree Chintapalli, is recruiting an outstanding postdoctoral scholar who will have an appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The primary focus of the Lab is to understand the molecular level interactions of globular proteins with intracellular metabolites, and how these events impact in cellular processes. The position demands a strong technical background in the fields of computational bioinformatics and structural biochemistry. This position will provide opportunities to collaborate with a broad spectrum of scientists working at the cutting edges of membrane biology research, and to be in an environment at the ACNC that encompasses basic science through translational and clinical research.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in computational biochemistry/bioinformatics or related field, and must have research experience in molecular modeling, MD simulations, quantum mechanics, drug designing (protein-ligand interactions), pharmacokinetics with a strong publication track record in peer reviewed journals. The position requires advanced working knowledge in the area of computational biology. The potential candidate must have a desire to acquire new areas of translational research. S/He develops new study protocols, performs data analysis and develops new computational approaches; assists in writing grant proposals and research related publications.
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. We champion being a collaborative health care organization, focused on improving the health, health care, and well-being of Arkansans.
