Job Description

Duties: Supports code development for eCommerce projects by participating in project team meetings to develop project plans; reviewing project requirements to determine coding needs; providing insight to software developers regarding project quality requirements; and providing guidance regarding code development to ensure testability and reliability. Performs quality assurance testing for large-scale, eCommerce web applications, tools, and software by collaborating with project teams to establish test cases and requirements; writing test cases (for example, white, gray, or black box) and system test scenarios in accordance with project requirements and established standards; clarifying and updating test cases; obtaining test case approval from the project team; applying test case instructions to products under testing; executing test cases; evaluating results against expected results; and updating project teams regarding results and needed fixes. Participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; assisting in the writing and developing of code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to appropriate team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan; and ensuring on-time delivery and handoffs. Develops software quality assurance (SQA) project plans by determining project scope and level-of-effort (LOE) estimates; determining data and environmental requirements; identifying dependencies and risks; identifying necessary resources (for example, staff, equipment); and outlining quality assurance deliverables and deadlines.

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in quality engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience in quality engineering or related experience.

 

Skills Required: Must have experience with: Software quality assurance testing (eCommerce Web Applications/Web/SAP/Cloud); defect tracking (HP QC/Jira/Test Tracker/Digite); test documentation (Confluence); Functional requirements, non-functional requirements, test planning, test strategy, quality requirements, test case writing, test execution, evaluate results, defect management, test metrics, LOE, environment identification; Reviewing test plans, scope, coverage, strategy, result review with business leaders, product teams, architects, Dev teams; Agile development model; Conducting time management and providing timely updates to PM's on progress, issues, risks for quality delivery and deadlines; Performance Testing: design and execution of test scripts using LoadRunner for performance and stability, analysis and report generation, load modeling; load, stress, endurance and benchmark testing; Web and API (SOAP and Rest); Performance Engineering: application and server-side monitoring and analysis, transaction and throughput analysis, response time breakdown, thread dump analysis, system resource utilization, capacity planning (New Relic, CA Wily, Splunk); Design and implementation of automation framework using VB Script for HP UFT; modular data driven hybrid framework; Creating and executing functional automation test scripts (Web and SOAP), regression, smoke, production validation; SOAP UI and HP UFT for API functional testing; and Designing SQL queries for Oracle, MS SQL, and Postgres.
