Technical Services Manager

Summary: The Technical Services Manager must have a deep-rooted background and industrial experience engaged in lean manufacturing with experience. The best candidate will be tenacious at identifying waste in the process and will have proficiencies in coaching management and operators in the culture and mindset of lean.S/he must have demonstrated experience in project management and be able to develop and drive cultural change at the core.Directs and coordinates activities of Maintenance,0020Continuous Improvement, and Equipment Reliability staffing improving equipment reliability, reducing failure and reducing maintenance cost.
Demonstrated intensity and tenacious approach to managing safety and understands the critical link between safety and quality, especially from a workplace efficiency perspective.
Performs periodic inspections of production lines & facilities to assure dependable 24/7 operation.
Work directly with all departments to troubleshoot open issues with production daily.
Handles personnel issues, documenting all issues, and handles conflicts between employees.
Responsible for disciplinary actions to all direct reports.
Prior maintenance supervisory or plant engineering experience in a 24/7 operation.
Identifies, develops and leads continuous improvement projects, in support of organizational objectives, and delivers sustainable improvement that translate to positive ROI.

Education and Work Requirements:
Minimum five (5) years of experience managing projects in heavy manufacturing industry.
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or 3-year extensive work experience.
Operations Management, or equivalent technical degree.
Preferred engineering disciplines include metallurgical, materials science, mechanical or industrial.
Preferred post graduate degree in Engineering (M.S.E.) or M.B.A.
System required; Six Sigma training is optional but preferred.
