Project Controls at Black & Veatch provides timely industry-best plans, schedules, forecasts and analyses to assist project management in achieving optimum project performance. Project Controls processes and tools are used to plan and schedule the scope of work, and to organize the as-sold budgeted costs to support monitoring, measuring progress, reporting, and forecasting the overall performance of a project.

This is a Manager/Specialist position assigned to either a role in Project Controls, Project Controls Manager, Regional Office Project Controls Lead or a combination. You will have supervisory/lead responsibility over a group of project controls personnel or functions as a technical specialist who develops advanced concepts while supervising thework of others as well as being responsible for overall performance management.May be responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will managea diverse team of professionals and able to achieve successful results/or is able to function as a technical specialist developing advanced concepts. You ay be responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of others.

PJC Management:

+ Leads project controls team on the most complex and highest risk projects.

+ Is an integral part of the management team for project success.

+ Collaborates with the project management leadership team to ensure project success.

+ Identifies improvements to processes.

+ Leads in developing staff capabilities.

Regional Office/Group Managing:

+ Leads regional office project controls to support project execution.

+ Leads in project controls efforts to support capturing new work.

+ Anticipates resource requirements to ensure adequate resources are available.

+ Leads project controls process and systems development if needed.

PJC Specialist:

+ Recognized as an expert in a project controls specialist area.

+ Develop tools, systems & processes to optimize effectiveness.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer Master’s degree or local equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management. Experience serving in a Leadership role for a medium- to large-sized EPC project in both Home Office and Field preferred.Prefer certificate from either PMI or AACE.

Minimum Qualifications

Four-year Bachelor’s degree with ten or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor’s degree required with twelve years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.

Certifications

Prefercertificate from either PMI or AACE.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
