As a Senior Application Architect, you will work on system and process improvement initiatives, internal architectural design, and leverage technology to streamline and execute Humana’s business strategies, work with our partners to build comprehensive system solutions, examining existing frameworks and preparing the needs of the future. These can include key focus areas of member/provider experience, productivity/growth, associate capabilities, and operating risk.

While working with cross-functional teams to further the development of segment-wide processes, this person is also responsible for the effective integration of their application into the broader business and IT ecosystem within which it will operate.

As part of this role, this person will understand and follow enterprise guidelines, as well as utilize common application design frameworks and design patterns in their work; they are also expected to share feedback and learning back out to the enterprise. Thus, the Application Architect also serves as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for their application to other architects, and as a feedback loop back into the enterprise architecture portfolio.

  • Define the current application architecture, and identify issues within it, including tracking technical debt
  • Refine and/or redesign application architecture to meet the organization’s changing business requirements.
  • Ensure the design meets the business service level agreements (SLAs) for availability and performance.
  • Refine and/or redesign application architecture to be more cost-effective, including the optimal selection of implementation technologies, practices, and skills for application delivery success.
  • Iteratively document and improve architectural approaches, service design, and development processes and approaches.
  • Integrate each application solution into the broader business and IT ecosystem within which it will operate.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include :

+ Plan application/development/Architecture of tools and capabilities for project initiatives

+ Work as part of a project team to deliver results within a set timetable; assist in work stream initiatives/sub projects

+ Apply the Process Transformation methodology and guide others on the application of the same

+ Build repeatable, scalable solutions

+ Capture process metrics and monitors process maturity

+ Identify gaps and develop improvements

+ Identify short & long term impacts both qualitatively and quantitatively

The successful candidate has worked on process improvement initiatives and has an understanding of multiple improvement methodologies. They must be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to work collaboratively with business areas in identifying problems and coaching project teams in solving problems. They will also will be effective at working on multiple deliverables simultaneously and possess keen change management skills.

Role Competencies

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science engineering or equivalent engineering Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7+ years of work experience or Master’s degree with at least 5+ years of experience

+ Progressive experience as an Architect or Technical lead and senior Software developer in large IT projects spanning multiple enterprise systems.

+ Familiarity with software development methodologies, standards, and architecture frameworks

+ Experience with architecting and application development of frameworks (.net, MVC, java)

+ Experience with:

+ Apex, REST, SOAP API, triggers

+ SOA design, Web services, APIs and implementation

+ Design, development, and testing of software applications

+ Back-end databases

+ Proven experience on CICD process execution for Salesforce

+ Ability to evaluate business needs for integration and configuration and recommend/Architect solutions accordingly

+ Proven ability to create innovative solutions to solve complex business requirements, and streamline/automate business processes

+ Proven ability to be effective on multiple projects simultaneously amid shifting priorities

+ Develops visually rich and professional conceptual design documents targeted to varying audiences of business and technical aptitude

+ Develops detailed configuration specifications documentation targeted to technical resources

+ Participate in customer communications, and discussions related to overall solutions design

+ Conducts solutions presentations and obtains customer acceptance to solution design

+ Validates solutions after built and provides solution walkthrough with customer. Guides customer through solution deployment

+ Team player with excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple business leaders to complete projects quickly

+ Maintains/enhances technology expertise, keeping current with evolving systems analysis, programming and database technologies.

+ Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to interact with leaders and stakeholders

+ Ability to perform qualitative and quantitative statistical analysis

+ Proficient in data and root cause analysis

Preferred to have:

+ Six Sigma / Lean or similar process improvement experience

+ Sales and Service cloud experience in Salesforce a plus

+ Understanding and application of multiple improvement methodologies

+ Experience and expertise with the following

+ Designing and integrating multi-application solutions

+ Salesforce CRM, BPM and RPA development experience

+ Salesforce and Azure Cloud Architecture and Integrations

+ Azure DevOps practices
