Sr Contract Specialist - Government Compliance & Operations

Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Government Compliance, this position is responsible for the administration, review and analysis of key Federal, State and other municipal contracts by assessing contract requirements, special provisions, and terms & conditions to ensure compliance with negotiated business terms, regulations, policies, and procedures. Accountable to manage contractual pricing, audits and compliance.This position will regularly interact with government customers, contracting officers, sales and management and internal stakeholder organizations, and will be responsible for successfully managing and growing existing agreements and helping drive new business within the scope of corporate policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Administer & modify key federal, state and other municipal contracts by providing high quality, compliant customer agr e emen t manageme n t including the timely r ev i ew of government terms and conditions.

+ Identifies c ontra c tual risks and commercial considera t ions for interna l customer s and provides sound contr a ctua l solut i ons to mitiga t e exposure.

+ Management of contractual pricing, process and timing of internal and external reporting.

+ Audit key contracts for compliance to key terms (MFN, discounts, etc)

+ Understands and applies general contr a cting principles, theor i es and concepts .

+ Understand s the inten t o f contractual la nguage and is able to man a ge the company’ s pos i tion

+ Revalidation and ongoing verification of integrity of government customer coding and data.

+ Standardization of company demographics for registrations, accreditations and filings.

+ Collaborate with supplier diversity to ensure efficiency in the reporting of subcontracting goals

+ Understands how c ontr a cts impa c t th e business, incl u ding financial implicat i ons.

+ Understand Government p olicies and pro c edures and compliance.

+ Participa t es in Indust r y As s ociat i ons and attends ann u al training events and edu c ates internal st a ke h olders on t h e r equirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ Master’s degree a plus

+ Certifications: FAC-C, FAC-COR, DAWIIA, Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) – preferred but not required

+ 4-5+ years in procurement/contracting or other support professional working on government contract matters

+ Extensive experience with contract preparation and/or review required

+ Must have working to expert knowledge of government contracting concepts and terms

+ Experience in project management and execution on multi-departmental projects a plus

+ This role may be required to obtain a Government Security Clearance

+ Proven ability to professionally and effectively, design, present, and implement new concepts and ideas, procedures, organizational change, and key performance indicators

+ Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, as well as, good presentation, leadership and team-building skills

+ Strong workflow and process creation skills

+ Excellent interpersonal skills

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

+ Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills

+ Working knowledge of database, design, Internet software as well as strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

+ Customer focused; performs duties with a sense of urgency
