We are the P&W Aftermarket Center of Excellence for the repair of major engine casings.
The Development Engineering Lead is responsible for the development of all new products for PSD, from the latest commercial Geared Turbofan to the latest military engines, including the F119 & F135.
This position is hybrid. Primary supporting 1st shift activities.
+ Manage the whole development process for PSD. From identifying potential new products to complete industrialization so they are ready to be turned over to the production group. This includes addressing RFQ’s, following Repair Process Standard Work, completing Passport Reviews, and completing First Article Inspections.
+ Management, direct & coach small group of development engineers ensuring that commitments are met, and standard work is followed. Also, management the Prototype and Tooling Group, which consists of a small group that designs and builds fixtures and proves out first time repairs.
+ Interface with management internally and externally to PSD to provide program status, updates, and technical sales presentations.
+ Lead PSD Digital Technology projects to ensure we are using the latest tools to be as efficient as possible.
+ Part of a team transforming PSD’s operational layout and processes to a higher volume/velocity format.
+ Travel up to 5%.
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field required, OR
+ Advanced Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field and 7+ years of prior relevant experience in engineering and manufacturing operations.
+ A minimum of 10+ years of prior relevant experience in engineering and manufacturing operations required.
+ US Person Status required due to government contracts.
+ Previous experience with Leadership/Supervisory skills preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Analytical, problem solving and mathematic skills.
+ Demonstrate skill and success in team leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.
+ Working knowledge of shop practices, policies and procedures governing manufacturing engineering support requirements as well as work instruction documentation for manufacturing processes.
+ Demonstrate flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous assignments.
+ Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize.
