Job Highlights

 

The role of the Head of EHSS is to coordinate activities within the Environmental, Health & Safety, and Security functions in support of El Dorado Operations. Develop strategic goals and targets to maintain health and safety performance, ensure environmental compliance, and ensure site security and ensure compliance with Homeland Security CFATS requirements to protect the community from terroristic activities. EHSS ensures compliance with regulations to ensure El Dorado sites maintain the license to operate.

Recent experience in managing Title V PSD permitting and compliance, experienced with management of environmental remediation of soil and groundwater, success in managing NPDES permitted facilities, hazardous waste management, and sustainability initiatives.

Develop competent EHSS team leaders and ensure continuous personal growth and development to ensure strong teams supporting site initiatives.

Continuously coach others to ensure understanding their roles in owning health and safety in their areas of responsibility and develop a safety mindset with all personnel working in Lanxess El Dorado.

Ensure thorough root causeinvestigations are competed for incidents; communicate findings to all stakeholders, and use findings to revise procedures, policies, and upgrade training.

Lead Interactions with representatives of regulatory agencies, corporate assessment teams, public comment periods, corporate support functions, and peers at other Lanxess locations.

Serve as a member of the site leadership team; providing environmental, health, safety, and security regulatory expertise to aid with informed decision-making.

Develop best practices in EHS and use them to develop a superior training process for all employees and contractors working in Lanxess, El Dorado facilities.

Ensure implementation of Lanxess Directives.

Manage the annual EHSS budget to sustain environmental compliance, improved safety performance,training, and security of Lanxess South Arkansas operations.

 

Requirements

 

BS in chemical, environmental or similardegree with 10+ years of experience in a EHS&S managerial role in a manufacturing facility

Expert knowledge in environmental & regulatory compliance, including Title V permits, Homeland Security CFATS, NPDES, Hazardous Waste, Air and Remediation

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills

Ability to hold self and others accountable, establish vision and planto achieve, manage multiple projects; and interface with and represent company to regulators.
