Summary

The Department of Community Correction (DCC) Treatment Supervisor is responsible for the planning and directing the development of treatment activities for clients. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Directs the work activities of treatment staff including interviewing and hiring, reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Plans, coordinates, and directs treatment planning, development, and administration by establishing operational priorities and coordinating these operations with other functions within and outside the division and agency Plans and coordinates the implementation of new treatment programs, develops treatment program goals and objectives ensuring compliance with federal and state levels. Conducts training, assigns job duties, reviews leave requests, reviews grievances, and conducts training for new employees Assess equipment needs and make requisitions Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of rehabilitative services and delivery systems. Knowledge of treatment program planning, development, analysis and evaluation. Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies applicable to rehabilitation services. Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques. Knowledge of therapeutic community. Ability to plan work unit objectives. Ability to analyze and compile data and prepare reports. Ability to oversee the work of subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other human behavior related fields, plus three years experience in program coordination, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Must be licensed as an Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor by the State Board of Examiners in Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors in accordance with ACA 17-27-408. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
