Job Purpose and Scope: Responsible for developing business and marketing a full range of banking services to Small Business Administration (SBA) loan-eligible businesses with emphasis on client contact, originations, and analysis.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Executes strategic and tactical plans to manage SBA business development productivity and portfolio quality, and to meet financial targets.
  2. Identifies, prioritizes, and develops strategies for high-value retention, expansion, and acquisition of SBA customer relationships by delivering knowledgeable advice and solutions.
  3. Leverages local market networks and centers of influence to identify, prospect, and pursue SBA business opportunities to hit market goals.
  4. Engages relevant business and bank partners in team-based customer development with expert delivery.
  5. Reviews financial statements and supporting documents to structure SBA loan proposals.
  6. Completes initial analysis and prepares SBA credit package.
  7. Enthusiastically supports and models the bank's values and mission.
  8. Displays a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  9. Embraces Bank OZK's core lending tenets of asset quality, profitability, and then growth.
  10. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including agency guidelines and organization policies.
  11. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  12. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  13. Follows Bank OZK policy, procedures and guidelines to protect customers and bank assets.

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of SBA Loan Programs.
  2. Ability to demonstrate effective business development skills.
  3. Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to demonstrate effective organizational skills with attention to detail.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally (face-to-face and phone) and in writing, using professional grammar and demeanor.
  6. Ability and willingness to participate in community and professional activities and organizations.
  7. Ability to travel for business purposes.
  8. Ability to operate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment, with exacting deadlines.
  9. Skill in using computer, internet, and MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Basic Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or finance, plus a minimum of two (2) years' experience in business/commercial lending required; in lieu of degree minimum of two (2) years of SBA-specific lending experience required.
