Position Overview
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment for plant and construction purposes within a safety sensitive area. The career field for Equipment Operator includes, but may not be limited to, the following positions: Heavy Equipment Operator (Grade and Pave Crew), Roller Operator (Self-Propelled, Asphalt, Other than Asphalt), Motor Grader Operator (Rough/Finish Grade), Concrete Grinder/Milling Machine Operator, Backhoe Operator (Rubber Tire or Track), Skid Steer Operator, Forklift Operator, Bulldozer/Push Dozer Operator, Scraper Operator, Loader Operator, Concrete Finishing Machine Operator, Asphalt Paver Machine Operator or other specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights, safely and efficiently within construction sites and quarry locations
Using equipment knowledge must be able to clear area for highway construction such as placing fill material, fine grading, placing base, occasionally provide traffic control, shoveling, and erosion control.
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
Assist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
Regular and on time attendance at assigned times is required.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Requirements
Must be 18 years in age or older.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Must maintain current drivers license that meets state requirements, i.e., DL/CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements. Valid DOT Medical Card a pl
