The Applications Analyst is responsible for providing end user support and assistance with the day to day use of the Biostatistics Department’s information system applications and system that support administrative and research activities. The Applications Analyst will also assist with the creation of functional requirements and other documentation in order to assist with resolving application issues and assist in the testing and validation of application enhancements and upgrades. Assists in providing technical end user hardware and software support and training. The position calls for willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. The Applications Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

+ Support day-to-day operations & ongoing system applications as assigned including maintain and track open issues; respond to user inquiries and coordinates resolution; develop specifications to be customer approved and utilized in the development, selection and/or deployment of system solutions; assist in systems management activities.

+ Supports the Change Control process. This includes log and track system change requests; make appropriate changes to applications and/or databases; monitor and track code versions.

+ Maintain an awareness and understanding of technological advances, in applications responsible for. This includes develop knowledge of assigned application database management systems; develop functional knowledge of appropriate query and reporting tools.

+ End user hardware and software support such as Windows 10 devices.

+ Develop tools to automate / configure systems and applications using programming and/or scripting languages.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the Biostatistics Department.

+ Bachelor’s Degree is required

+ Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other computing and engineering related fields is preferred.

+ Three (3) years of experience with administrative and financial information systems applications in areas such as general ledger, accounts payable, human resources, payroll and procurement

+ One (1) additional year of information system application support and/or development experience required

+ Experience with research applications is a plus

+ Experience with SAS Viya data analytics/data management platform is preferred

+ Experience in programming / scripting languages such as SAS, R, SQL, Python, and/or PowerShell is a plus

+ Prior experience in development of customized reports is a plus
