Job Description

  • Purpose: 

    The satellite operator is trained to tend, operate, maintain and oversee all of the areas within the mill to assure compliance with established procedures relative to quality, productivity, maintenance and safety by performing assigned duties.


    • No direct reports
    • Maintain internal relationships with co-workers and supervisors
    • Maintain external relationships with vendors on operation site (i.e. loggers and OEM vendors)

    • Take ownership of personal development
    • Adhere to agreed policies and practices to maintain an effective workplace capable of meeting its objectives.
    • Manage relationships internally and externally
    • Share expertise and knowledge
    • Proactively cross train in plant activities/projects 

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent 
    • Minimum of 3-5 years industrial experience 
    • Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical aptitude 
    • Ability to adapt to working within a team or lone working environment, with minimal supervision  
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED


  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years production/manufacturing experience preferred


  • Availability to work full-time 12 hour rotating shifts, (days & nights)   including overtime (scheduled and unscheduled), weekends and holidays


  • Ability to use a computer (emails, online training, reporting, requesting time off, policy acknowledgement, etc.)


  • Ability to perform repetitive & physically demanding tasks for up to 12 hours?  The required tasks include but are not limited to:

Lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed

Climb ladders and stairs

Work with hands above head level for up to 30 minutes at a time

Work comfortably at heights above 10 feet

Work in extreme temperatures


  • Willingness to consent to a background check and drug test
