WHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Siloam Springs office, you will act as technical resource for global mobility test teams.
You will be responsible for testing to support applications design, product development, commercialization, and customer validation of power transmission products and systems.
This is an exciting opportunity because you will assist with the development of test equipment and new test techniques.
You'll analyze and report on test results and conclusions to support product development, applications engineering, commercialization, sales, and customers with guidance.
You will assist with initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects to improve quality and efficiency of testing processes procedures and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs assigned test and/or training on equipment and procedures. Handles sample change and setup verification. Set / adjust controls, operating data acquisition systems.
Monitor testing in progress, collect data and report results using hand-held instruments for precision measuring. Uses/updates lab order record in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as required.
Provides support to Engineers for development and non-standard testing and initial set up of standard tests. Data entry/collection and reporting. Trains other technicians on test procedures and equipment.
Light mechanical and light electrical Repair and Maintenance (R&M) of test equipment as appropriate. Create maintenance work orders for equipment repair and modification.
Fabrication of Instrumentation fixtures using hand and power tools which may include metal saws & drill presses
Support continuous improvement and quality activities such as procedure and process improvements, cleanliness, and organization (5S). Responsible to support Productivity/Efficiency. Proficient with laboratory policies and procedures.
No Direct supervision but may monitor progress of other technicians to ensure all testing on assigned test requests gets completed.
High School diploma
6+ years' experience in a commercial lab or a lab supporting a commercial process
Strong knowledge of product lines (Sprockets, belts, tensioners, etc.)
Ability to meet training objectives in Training Matrix applicable to group at this level at manager's discretion
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
Strong knowledge of instrumentation, measuring systems
Strong understanding of mechanical laboratory test equipment
Strong understanding of manufacturing, laboratory settings or quality assurance
Good interpersonal, oral, and written skills
Good planning, time management and organizational skills
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Understanding of Lean principals
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate test related information
Demonstrated ability to analyze and trouble shoot test related equipment and/or procedural issues
Intermediate understanding of electromechanical control systems
Intermediate understanding of hydraulic or power transmission systems
Ability to setup and utilize data acquisition systems
Forklift qualified, if applicable
Demonstrated understanding of parts inventory system
