Summary:

Facebook is seeking an experienced VDC Program Manager to join our Innovator team. The Innovator organization is dedicated to leading Construction Innovation globally for our Data Centers. The Innovator team is comprised of three cross-functional teams: Product Development, Fabrication & Integration, and Product Realization. Each team leads their aspect of the innovation flow-through, yet they are deeply interrelated and comprised of cross-functional partners across the broader organization. These teams operate as partners, drive timely and effective change. This role will primarily be responsible for creating a program level unification of our design and construction modeling across multiple General Contractor as well as partnering internally across to our Design, Engineering, & Construction (DEC) teams.

Required Skills:

1. Reports to the Product Realization Lead within Infrastructure Construction Management Innovation Team. The Product Realization Lead is 1 of 3 pillar leads within the Innovator Team. Innovator is one of 4 pillars within Infrastructure Construction Management (ICM)

2. Lead the Master Construction Model (MCM) alignments with the Master Design Documents (MDD) in partnership with Data Center Design (DCD) partners

3. Responsible for the embedment of change from the Master Prefabrication Library (MPL) and Data Center Improvement System (DCIS)

4. Manage the Master Construction Model (MCM) process across all our data center builds and partnering deeply with our Data Center Design (DCD) Teams to ensure program consistency

5. Lead the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team in partnership with Data Center Design (DCD) partners

6. Develop and embed innovation focused on virtual construction aspects of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)

7. Optimize and ensure relevance of the master prefabrication library (global database) and partner closely with ICM Delivery and ICM Program Development

8. Provide guidance for company VDC policies and procedures to provide teams to effectively plan, measure, and manage to reduce project risk

9. Integrate the vision and objective for VDC with other functional and support services

10. Provide meaningful input as to the programming and conceptual design activities

11. Oversee the preparation of models for all aspects of design, construction, and facilities management

12. Oversee the production and management of 3D models and implements 3D models during construction

13. Oversee development of project VDC schedules and milestones. Holding contractor team members accountable for reaching set achievements

14. Oversee construction coordination program in partnership with contractors ensuring all information generated is appropriately leveraged, shared, and communicated timely to ensure continuous improvement and getting the build “right the first time”

15. Provide input and leadership to the integrated construction and virtual design and construction process, managing multiple people and projects simultaneously

16. Fully integrate VDC into daily design through construction operations with a strong focus on improving the absorption of innovation and ensure project outcomes in coordination

17. Manage contingent worker resources as needed and provide guidance to contractor team members as appropriate to ensure consistency of delivery

18. Partner with internal teams and contractor teams to the development of the project risk and mitigation plans as well as developing solutions whenever possible/appropriate to mitigate risks

19. Partner with design team members and preconstruction services (i.e. estimating, scheduling, project planning, constructability, site utilization, etc.)

20. Partner with internal teams and contractor teams to absorb innovation and change into our modeling quickly, efficiently with high detail and accuracy

21. Partner with ICM Document Control to manage the archive of as-built models and related files for quick and easy reference. Introduce continuous improvement strategies to evolve this tooling and structure whenever possible to advance the ease of use

22. Partner with cross-functional teams and onsite teams to capture, document, and share best practices and work standards to drive consistency and continuous improvement of company VDC practice

23. Partner with partner teams within Data Center Design (DCD), Infrastructure Construction Management (ICM), Strategic Engineering & Design (SE&D), Global Data Center Connectivity (GDCC), and various other cross-functional teams

24. Contribute to internal training needs as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)

25. Contribute to fostering an integrated team experience through communication and collaboration

26. Contribute to team member onboarding, project kick offs/orientations, progressing team initiatives, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

27. Contribute to communication efforts such as VDC related presentations, knowledge share/educational sessions, and lead meetings with professionalism, knowledge, and concise and pointed messaging. Provide presentation materials for these presentations as required to support the objective

28. Contribute to team participation in the research and development of new technologies (aka Cool Tools) and vendors

29. 40% domestic travel to construction sites, fabrication sites, & home office required

30. Minimal International travel required

Minimum Qualifications:

31. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Computer Aided Design

32. Minimum of 6 years’ experience implementing and managing BIM/VDC workflows

33. Experience and expertise in developing, implementing, and managing VDC processes and BIM solutions to improve project outcomes

34. Practical work experience implementing and supporting BIM/VDC solutions such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 platform, Trimble SketchUp, VICO, Tekla, MS Project, and Synchro 4D

35. High level of competency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Synchro 4D, Trimble SketchUp, and Bluebeam Revu

36. Knowledge of construction and A/E contract language

37. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

38. Experienced in facilitating meetings and training events

39. Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of the construction costs and financial risks

40. Experience managing teams, people, and processes

41. Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

42. Mission Critical, infrastructure, and/or data center construction experience

43. Experience working with blended architecture, engineering, and construction teams

44. Proficiency with Autodesk BIM 360 Field and Glue, 3DS Max, Civil 3D, Point Layout, Faro Scene, Google Earth Pro, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)

45. Software experience with eBuilder, Procore, and/or BIM 360

46. Administrator/editor level working knowledge of MS SharePoint

47. Experience with review and approval processes

48. Experience with LEAN tools (such as Choosing by Advantage,
