General Summary

The Senior Manager of Engineering is responsible for leading a team of engineers in support of new business opportunities during request for proposals, new operation launches, automation and technology standardization and technical center of excellence for operations. Responsible for effectively deploying resources to support the ongoing needs of the business while ensuring best practices implemented throughout the organization. This position will develop the strategy from a technical perspective that aligns with corporate goals and objectives for new business opportunities, partnering with their director reports and direct senior leadership.

This position will be responsible for…..

+ Developing the strategic vision for the engineering team as it relates to new business, automation and packaging solutions.

+ Standardize the center of excellence for technical knowledge as it relates to new business, automation and packaging technologies.

+ Improve on existing and identify new system tools required to drive the strategic vision and implement a roll-out plan and sustainability plan.

+ Support sales opportunities where necessary with expertise on RFP support and submittals.

+ Engage Sales and Operations to research, spec, and justify technologies that can support customer requirements.

+ Build the engineering structure to scale and grow with the strategy of the company.

+ Support Managing Director of Implementations & Engineering to prioritize and plan new project requests.

+ Coach and develop engineers and ensure continued development in areas such as technology acumen and project management.

+ Coordinate and organize the team to drive priorities to align with business change.

+ Drive the company culture and team culture within the organizational groups that report into the role.

+ Effectively drive change management for new strategy ensuring it can be sustained in the operations.

+ Focus on operational execution, service delivery and service costs, KPI’s and continuous improvement.

+ Develop and utilize a standard database to ensure continued adherence to standards for process flows utilized in RFP’s

+ Provides leadership in using Quality Driven Management techniques within the business, encouraging use of analysis to drive decision making and development of improvements. Ensures team understands expectations and how information is reported and used.

You might be a great fit if…. Education/Experience

+ BS degree in Industrial Engineering or other related engineering discipline is required. Advanced Business Degree is preferred on top of the BS.

+ Demonstrate a strong track record of being able to execute on strategic objectives.

+ A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience, preferably in a multi-customer logistics environment.

+ Demonstrated ability to interact effectively at multiple levels, in support of our customer relationships.

+ Demonstrated self-confidence, particularly with client relationships; strong relationship building skills.

+ Experience in new product introduction is desired.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, teammates, customers, and the general public.

+ A proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports and subordinates.

+ ASQ quality certification preferred

+ PMP® Certification is preferred

+ Combination of office and on-site work with significant travel within North America (additional international travel may also be required)
