Overview:

Functions in a variety of roles in the inpatient and outpatient settings of the Wellness Department and assists with daily inpatient rounds, client interview processes, implementation of walk studies, lifestyle modification goal setting and measurement and client scheduling. Focus is on leadership of individual and group, patient and significant other education and exercise sessions. Additional responsibilities include assistance with community events, health fairs, public speaking requests, development /implementation of Wellness programming and daily implementation of the Mercy Health Plans MyChoice program.

 

Qualifications:

Education: High School graduate

Licensure:

Experience: Possess 1 year experience in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation or related field. Must be component in cardiac rhythm recognition, significance and Wellness Center intervention procedures.

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AED training required Certification in allied health field a plus

Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Requires knowledge of disease processes and exercise guidelines for special populations. Ability to safely operate and train others on use of medical and exercise equipment, computer, phone system, fax and copier. Must be able to integrate a variety of disease specific and exercise guideline information with individual patient data.

Preferred Education: Prefer bachelor's or master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology or related area. Willingness to become a certified ACSM Exercise Specialist.

Preferred Certifications: ACSM certification preferred.

Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred.
