Job Summary

Responsible for the preparation and entry of complex journal entries and assigned financial reports; extensive account analysis; implementation of process improvements and/or team initiatives. Serves as technical expert to internal clients and provides resolution of intermediate issues regarding assigned financial reports and analysis. Works under minimal supervision.

Open to virtual work, but prefer candidate be based in the Kansas City area.

Key Responsibilities

+ Responsible for the preparation and entry of complex general ledger journal entries.

+ Reconciles complex accounts and/or assists others with identifying and researching reconciling items.

+ dentifies alternative solutions to prevent continued issues.

+ Identifies risks and opportunities and assesses reasonableness of balances.

+ Prepares complex audit deliverables to support external audit efforts for financial statements.

+ Monitors and balances systems to ensure completeness and accuracy; researches and resolves differences.

+ May participate in various system implementations and enhancements related to Financial systems.

+ Prepares complex balance sheet analysis.

+ Prepares complex financial statement disclosures and various reports.

+ Supports continuous improvement efforts and the related change management process.

+ Performs special projects as directed. Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, set priorities, and adhere to deadlines in an organized manner.

+ Must be a problem solver with a proven ability to research, analyze, produce and ensure the accuracy of highly detailed work.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Oracle, preferred

+ Proven knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply principles

+ Strong analytical skills

+ Ability to work independently

+ Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Experience with foreign currency preferred

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

Experience: 4+ years related experience
