Bachoco OK Foods is seeking a VP of Operations for our Fort Smith, AR Corporate location. (THIS ROLE IS NOT REMOTE)
Summary The Vice President of Operations has overall responsibility for operations management to include engineering, and manufacturing, and is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and day-to-day execution. The VP of Operations leads a team of engineering, operational and manufacturing professionals to achieve organizational goals, which include ensuring exceptional service levels to our customers.
An executive presence, ability to earn trust within employee relations and strong communication/presentation skills are necessary and the VP of Operations must have excellent leadership skills to set the tone and vision for the group, while teaching, training, and inspiring the individual teams.
Develop and implement strategies to deliver year-over-year cost improvements through effective through internal process-improvement & cross-training
Demonstrated ability to analyze and select which processes are best performed internally vs outsourced
Provide an environment that retains high performance teams by engaging and rewarding top talent
Approach operational efficiency by identifying/utilizing the right metrics, tools, procedures and systems to achieve best-in-class performance
Ensure relevant policies, practices and procedures are developed, maintained and adhered to
Demonstrate collaborative approach to working with Bachoco leadership team. Communicate regularly and be transparent with all stakeholders
Some travel required
10+ years of progressive responsibility and leadership overseeing manufacturing operations, preferably in poultry manufacturing.
Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated at taking cost out and driving process improvement
Experience in developing and utilizing metrics, both internally and externally, to drive & measure performance
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operating plans, including a thorough knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis and cost control practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including developing and delivering formal presentations
Ability to manage and develop a high-performance team focused on equality, accountability and exceeding expectations
Must be an assertive, take-charge, proven manager with a strong results orientation, positive "can do" attitude and sense of urgency to get things done
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Strong mathematical skills. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
