Lumen’s Solutions With Advanced Technology (SWAT) Team is responsible for providing deep technical overlay support for Lumen’s Solution Engineering in support of all Business Solutions products. SWAT works closely with front line Solution Engineers to provide timely, accurate and complete technical answers in support of customer solutions.
This position will be responsible for managing a team of technical experts who provide customer facing and internal in-depth presales technical support for Lumen managed products including the security portfolio, hosting, colocation, cloud and IT Services.
+ Lead the team to provide Solution Engineers timely, accurate and professional presales technical support for products and solutions.
+ Ensure Solution Engineering has technical learning opportunities to obtain skills for them to technically design and build solutions with minimal outside assistance.
+ Lead the team to self-enable Solution Engineers by providing technical documentation for supported products and solutions.
+ Collect and distribute feedback from Solution Engineering and customers to appropriate internal teams as actionable information to correct, improve or develop Lumen products and solutions.
The Main Responsibilities
+ Build and manage a team of Security Sales Professionals focused on technical sales support within an assigned North America region.
+ Demonstrate advanced solution selling abilities and effective, pro-active customer communications to mentor and coach team members.
+ Attends customer meetings in person and via the phone as needed to provide guidance and coaching to team members.
+ Reviews customer business requirements developed directly or by sales/solution engineering. Interacts with sales/sales engineers and customers on large complex deals for specific products as needed to provide guidance and coaching to team members.
+ Proactively identifies areas of process and design improvement within specific product area, contacts impacted departments and recommends potential solutions.
+ Manage escalations within the assigned region for security technical sales issues.
+ Acts as a liaison to internal groups such as Service Delivery, Offer Management, Product, Marketing, Architecture and Capacity Planning to relay customer requirements and develop deliverable solutions.

Certifications: Any of the following certifications are recommended
CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, GSEC, C|EH, C|CISO, ISO2700-LI, CHPA, Togaf 9
Education and Experience
+ Experience: 20+ yrs in the Information Security industry.
+ Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
+ Field Of Study: Engineering, Computer Technology
+ A combination of education and experience is acceptable: Yes
+ Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
+ Ability to prioritize based on business need, and excellent time management skills.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
+ Experience: 7+ yrs Experience in a pre-sales role responsible for needs identification, qualification and solutions design specifically with this product/application
+ Proven experience successfully managing technologists and technology-based projects.
+ Experience in building security-based technology teams.
+ Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of Security Services technology with extensive knowledge of competitive offerings and trends.
+ Sales ability: Proven track record of success in sales, to mentor and coach security sales professionals.
+ Understanding of selling methodologies.
+ Communication: Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
+ Problem Solving: Expert problem-solving skills and ability to methodically understand and resolve complex issues. Must demonstrate the ability to focus ambiguous customer needs into specific, deliverable requirements. Must demonstrate creative solution development.
+ Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to build strong team relationship and easily transfer technical information. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must be very detail oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy.
