Job Description Summary
The AVP, Actuarial and Analytics is a senior analytic leadership role that encompasses strategy development & execution, operational, and talent responsibilities for assigned unit typically involved in reserving, rate-making, pricing, planning/forecasting, project management and research. The individual in this role is expected to drive change within department and influence leaders up to the VP level across multiple departments. The AVP, Actuarial and Analytics will work within broad limits and authority on complex initiatives requiring specialized knowledge and expertise in breadth and/or depth in several of the following areas: Actuarial and/or research methods Advanced statistical analyses Broad business knowledge In-depth Line of Business knowledge Broad awareness of enterprise Actuarial & Analytics community. The individual will lead a team of 6.
This role provides an opportunity to engage with senior leaders across both BIAA and Business Insurance. This high profile product rollout and enhancement initiative requires a fast-paced and fluid approach to project and team management, in collaboration with many functional areas. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
+ Manage the rate plan of the flagship BOP 2.0 product, including base rate development and updates.
+ Manage the disruption analysis and work with Product Management teams on unique state strategies.
+ Partner with data architects, rating teams, Circle leads, IT, Regulatory, and others on implementing/maintaining new rates and/or coverages.
+ Rate adequacy lead for new and legacy CMP products, including leading the advancement of the science of rate adequacy.
+ Drive benchmark implementation and enhancement.
+ Lead strategic vision for product enhancements and maintenance.
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.
+ 7+ years of comprehensive quantitative analysis experience required.
+ Project or people management experience required.
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
+ College degree in STEM related field.
+ Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
+ Leadership experience.
+ 10+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
+ Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
+ Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
+ Exceptional influencing and/or consulting skills; able to build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and translate complex information to senior leadership and non-technical teams.
+ Strong PC skills (MS Office).
