Summary ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under direction of the Accounting Manager and the Director of Finance, the Accounting Clerk member’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Rout invoices & purchase orders for approvals, coding and enter into PeachTree software. * Prepares bank deposits and posts to the general ledger event advance deposits and A/R collections. * Reconciles cash receipts and disbursements. * Prepares entry journals for review by the Accounting Manager/Director of Finance. * Generates and remits on-demand invoices for advance deposits, event settlements, and other A/R. * Maintaining records and files * Processing A/P * Post journal entries to Peachtree * Preparing purchase orders * Assist with inventory tracking / ordering when necessary * Administrative support * Exhibit Services * Maintaining Event Files - track deposits, insurance and invoices * Open and distribute mail * Assist with parking * Other duties maybe assigned * Assists with payroll processing * Assists with processing contract labor and related timesheets. * Assist at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium with vault clerks and other related requirements balancing cash vault. Weekly & Bi-Weekly * Data Entry * Performs A/R collections actions. * Interacts with outside collections agency on past due accounts. * Reviews chargebacks and facilitates resolution with credit merchant subcontractor. * Assists Accounting Manager with payroll & contract labor Monthly, Quarterly, etc… * Assists Accounting Manager with the preparation of monthly financial statements. * Reconciles sub-ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP. * Performs account analysis on other general ledger accounts. * Administers quarterly audits of cash in Box Office. * Performs any other functions delegated by Accounting Manager/ Director of Finance. * Assists with vault counts. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to multitask, work independently and pay close attention to detail. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work efficiently under pressure and produce accurate results. Above average level in administering ADP payroll. Computer literate in Word and Excel. Experience in accounting, preferably using Sage Accounting Software. Excellent customer service is essential. Must be able to work flexible hours. Supervisory Responsibilities No Supervisor Responsibilities Education and/or Experience * Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university * 1 2 years of experience in a position with related accounting responsibilities. * A combination of education and experience will be considered. * Must pass a clean background and credit check. * 1-2 years of cash handling experience. . Skills and Abilities * Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting * Have the ability to multi-task under extreme deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment * Excellent math skills and attention to details * Proficiency in Excel and Accounting software platforms * Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and other encountered in the course of employment. * Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holiday’s as needed. * Must have professional attitude and appearance * Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management and clients * Detail oriented * Ability to function independently with minimal supervision Skills and Abilities * Ability to use and maintain basic food service and kitchen equipment Computer Skills * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge in PeachTree (or related Accounting Software) and Excel spreadsheets. * Comfortable using bookkeeping software and excel spreadsheets.
