Now Hiring! Full Time Day Shift Food Service Technician

The Food Service Technician plays a vital role in our hospital by preforming a wide variety of duties throughout their shift under the supervision of the Food Service Manager. Our Technicians assist our patients and visitors in various areas of our overall nutritional services operations in our hospital. We are looking for someone who is friendly and customer service based as our food service technicians preform a variety of tasks such as working with our nutritionists to assemble and deliver trays to our patients. Assisting in our cafeteria with a variety of duties such as inventory, meal selection and preparation as well as retail duties including operating a cash register and restocking items from grab and go areas. The person selected for this role will be cross trained in a variety of areas in our nutrition services department with opportunities to develop and grow in your career. The person selected for this role will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience: At least 6 months working in a customer service-based environment such as food service, or retail. However, will train the right candidate regardless of prior experience

Preferred Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Other: The ability to read and understand basic instructions. Ability to operate kitchen equipment and have knowledge of food groups and be able to read and understand menus.
