UOP is seeking a highly motivated Sr manager to lead the QA labs in SHV, MOB, RVSD and ZJG, in support of ISC plants, CAS and R&D to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will develop strategic plans and actions and implement them to drive transformation of QA labs to continuously improve operation efficiency, turnaround time and standardization. In addition, the successful candidate will ensure capabilities are in place to support NPD process including trials and commercialization of new products. Organization and talent development is also critical to ensure the success of the global QA organization. This position is available within the Materials Characterization department of UOP’s Research & Development organization. UOP LLC, headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA, is a world leader in developing and licensing process technology, catalysts, adsorbents and consulting services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries, including the development of fuels and chemicals from renewable sources. Key Responsibilities · Develop strategic plans and actions and implement them to drive transformation of QA labs to continuously improve operation efficiency, turnaround time and standardization · Ensure capabilities are in place to support NPD process including trials and commercialization of new products. Organization and talent development is also critical to ensure the success of the global QA organization You Must Have · B.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering · Minimum of 15 years of experience in material and catalyst characterization · Six Sigma Green belt is a must. We Value · Advanced degree (MS, PhD). in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering · Strong working knowledge of statistics · Strong organization and management skills, with experience in developing, leading and executing key initiatives and projects · Flexible to work across cultures and time zones; Ability to lead a global organization, establishing objectives, and motivate the teams to drive the delivery · Demonstrated knowledge of application of analytical techniques (OFFLINE) at manufacturing sites · Demonstrated knowledge of the use of ONLINE analytical tools at manufacturing sites · Six Sigma Black belt or Lean Six Sigma Expert degree is a desirable characteristic · Familiarity with catalyst synthesis steps and their characterization is a strong plus · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across the organization (within and outside of the group), including E-level as this role frequently interacts with company executives · Ideal candidate is high-energy, a change agent and self-starter, who demonstrates leadership, management and technical excellence · Leadership/strategic planning 33%, project execution 33%, people/resource management 33%
