The primary role of the Education Coordinator is to provide support to the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Graduate School Course Directors. This individual will coordinate, perform and oversee a wide variety of educational support activities for the department Chair, faculty, staff and graduate students. Responsibilities include coordinating special events, seminar series, special projects and ensuring the department educational activities operate smoothly. The position also serves as the backup for procurement for the department and assists with all department events. The Education Coordinator assists the Department Administrator with onboarding activities for new faculty and staff and other related matters.

Responsibilities

 

 

 

Works directly with Graduate School Course Directors assisting with developing and administering exams and spreadsheets to calculate grades, rank and averages.

Responsible for distribution of exams and grades to students.

Maintains a database for course questions, grades, etc.

Responsible for completing special studies, reports and surveys for the department regarding students.

Assists faculty with course materials which includes preparing the course schedule for the semester with a syllabus.

Orders teaching materials.

Sends student material requests to the library for ordering.

Distributes and maintains records of student evaluations regarding faculty and course.

Coordinates all meetings for graduate school committees to review applications of prospective students.

Assists with visiting faculty.

Responsible for student travel itineraries.

Develops and distributes all student seminar announcements, dissertation announcements and othe departmental meetings.

Coordinates meetings and luncheons with out of town seminar speakers and students.

Assists with summer student programs.

Coordinates associate summer research symposium.

Assists the Department Administrator with the onboarding process for new employees and temporary staffing.

May assist with human resources related tasks such as employee evaluations, developing job descriptions, etc.

Inputs/adjusts time and leave for biweekly employees and signs off on timecards to submit to payroll for processing.

Processes purchase requisitions and travel requests.

Schedules meetings.

Conducts polling surveys.

Sets up webinars.

Assists department with planning and coordinating department events.

Perfom other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

 

Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, business administration, healthcare administration, finance, accounting or related field plus three (3) years of coordinating education activities required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years of experience coordinating education activities.

Valid state driver's license.

Experience with SAP software.

Experience with Blackboard.

Experience with enterprise survey systems.

Experience with Zoom.
