Overview

 

 

 

Associate Professor has responsibilities that will encompass predominantly clinical and education functions, in addition to scholarly activity. This position will serve as part of our GI, Breast, and Surgical Pathology teams. He/She will participate in teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and in inter-professional education as well. The Assistant Professor will work with other faculty to cover services at UAMS in these areas, take routine call which includes weekend availability for case triaging and evaluation of rush biopsies, and lead appropriate clinical conferences. We expect that he/she will develop research interests in Pathology and participate in collaborative work with investigators both within and outside of the Department of Pathology.

Responsibilities

 

 

 

Work with other faculty to cover services at UAMS in these areas.

Take routine call which includes weekend availability for case triaging and evaluation of rush biopsies, and lead appropriate clinical conferences.

Develop research interests in Pathology and participate in collaborative work with investigators both within and outside of the Department of Pathology.

Perform clinical roles involving work in general anatomic pathology including frozen section coverage and autopsy, gastrointestinal, breast, and surgical Pathology

Acts as a mentor and teacher for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

 

M.D. required. Board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Arkansas.
