POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

1st YEAR APPRENTICE SUBSTATION ELECTRICIAN

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be capable of reading, performing basic mathematical functions and written communications at high school level.

 

Experience
One year minimum experience with electrical work in the construction and maintenance of distribution systems and substations.

 

Job Knowledge
Should be familiar with First Electric construction standards. Should be familiar with the safety rules and regulations in accordance with First Electric Cooperative Corporation, State Labor Department, and OSHA.

 

Abilities and Skills
Must have the ability to comprehend the responsibilities of a substation electrician and continue to hone acquired skills. Must be capable of performing the essential functions associated with the 1st Year Apprentice Substation Electrician classification. Must have the ability to use tact in dealing with members and general public. Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Should have the ability to operate digger and aerial lift trucks, backhoe, trenchers and any other tools or equipment used on the job. This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility for his/her own safety or other people's safety.

2nd YEAR APPRENTICE SUBSTATION ELECTRICIAN

 

Education
